Friends

Friends

Friends, What every girl needs in her life!

Having a friend of the opposite sex is essential in every woman's life, they are the best, while women are the masters of emotion, men are the stronger side we need. Men are less caddy, less jealous and less competitive. They are straight out and will always protect you. Some are actually better listeners and give better advice, while there are those that can be a bit over protective and try to keep you in a bubble, but all in all a guy makes a great best friend! Then there's the bud that has known you longer than you have known yourself, the one who remembers everything even if it's a good thing or not, sometimes there are things we try to forget but have friends who keep reminding us,the one who knows are your flaws and still accepts you for who you are. The good for your self esteem bud; this is one who just makes your day all the time with her cheerfulness and kind words the one who plays you up to anyone, who loves you just the way you are and never judges you, I like to call her/him the mirror mirror friend, basically because she/he thinks you are the fairest of them all! The 1980's called friend who dude needs to get with the times and stop reminiscing about the past, even if it was better then. The one who needs a new sense of fashion that everything has changed around them but them, The one who thinks that Madonna is still a virgin, the one who still holds your heart and takes you way back when. The Ex boyfriend: The one who still can push your buttons, the one that knows all your ins and outs and is still there when you need something, A little something more than others lol, The one who still holds your heart but the two of you have separate lives and are happy for each other.

There's the friend who calls you at 2 am because no one else was stupid enough to answer the phone, lol the one who takes your advice, even when you aren't in any position to say anything, the friend you bare your soul to that knows all your secrets; the one you trust with your life.

Friends, I have learned to value my friendships and have realized that they are there when you need them and no one should ever take that from you, because after the next relationship fails they are there to help you bounce back! You can learn alot from your friends, some I have let go of, some that are not my style anymore, some distant, then there are those who remain best of friends.

Short story

Pinky the Purple Elephant

Pinky who was born pink woke up one morning to a fright. Her skin had turned purple over night. She ran to take a shower hoping that the water would rinse her back to normal. Five bars of soap later; Pinky was still purple.

Pinky was panicked, she called her mom at work sobbing. Pinky's mom insisted that Pinky stay home from school and that she would come home as quickly as she could. Pinky was scared that people would laugh at her; she had been pink for years. Pinky's mom returned home and sat Pinky down, she explained that Pinky had been adopted, that Pinky's real parents were purple. Pinky was upset that she had to find out this way.

Pinky needed answers; she waited for her parents to go to bed, then she packed a bag and set off to search for her birth parents. It was pretty dark outside and late. Pinky kept walking till she couldn't walk anymore and decided to take a nap under an apple tree. Pinky awoke to a boy elephant shaking her. " Wake up; are you lost, hurt, sick, what are you doing here?' "My name is Jeremy, who are you"? "My name is Pinky" said Pinky. " I never intended to fall asleep I am off to find my birth parents, you see I was adopted and all I know is their last names and the hospital I was born."

" We can go to my house and go on the internet and search for the name, follow me" Jeremy exclaimed. Jeremy typed in the last names of Pinky's birth parents the information they needed popped up on the screen. Millie and Manny King, 1512 Drake ST. Applesauce village 555-1212. "Apple sauce village is just 5 minutes from here you can borrow my sisters bike, lets go!" They reached the house, Pinky knocked on the door. " Can I help you?" an elderly elephant exclaimed. "My name is Pinky, I was hoping that you could help me locate my birth parents.

The elder lady exclaimed that her daughter now deceased had given up a baby 15 years ago, Her and her husband both deceased left the elderly elephant a letter just in case Pinky was to come around. The elderly elephant gave Pinky the letter, Dear Pinky, If you are reading this than you have found out the truth about being adopted, and if you are reading this you have now learned that we are deceased. Pinky I was very ill, and your real father died a year after you were born, I tried to look for you, I never wanted to give you up but I was so sick, and could barley take care of myself so I set up an adoption with the people you now call your mom and dad.

The elderly lady was Pinky's Grandmother and she was purple too. Tearful eyes Pinky asked if she could call her parents as they were probably very worried about her. At least the truth was known and Pinky was reunited with her Grandmother, Pinky was now a proud purple elephant!

Reflections on childhood memories

Reflections on childhood memories

I have two younger brothers, they are great, I used to play dress up with them, do their make-up, hair and dress them up in my clothes. They were great sports, ( No harm done) I felt deprived of not having any sisters, To think that I have pictures of them dressed up as my very own living dolls!
We used to build forts out of blankets in the living room, Although we had our disagreements, we have remained close, I am now married, they are both engaged to very pretty girls, I have to smile because the three of us were inseparable. Now we have our own lives and live in different cities, still try to call or e-mail each other.

I would not trade them for the world! I remember cooking pancakes for them, well...lets just say they got sick, the pancakes were raw inside, but they ate them anyway! I used to help them with their homework, attend school functions.
When my youngest brother out of the two, was in kindergarden he dedicated this book he made, "best sister in the world", I still have it, Along with any other test that they got a good grade on. Fast forward my youngest brother blessed me with a niece, and I had the honor to stand in my other brothers wedding, and I am a mother myself.
My childhood was a fond one, my father and I used to drive around singing at the top of our lungs or playing these silly games, he'd always improvise and tell a story, My Grampa and I used to go to the town dump and look for treasure, I still have to laugh. I also remember helping my Grampa make a stove outside out of rocks and I dropped one on his head oops!

My mom and I were so close, for most part of my childhood, and my Gramma and I still are. There's lots I remember, lots I still smile about. My mother always said do not double on your bike well I did and ended up having my baby toe mangled in the spoke. Ouch, but you live and learn as a child, even if it's the hard way!

Growing up, my friends played an important part in my life, always being there for me, my circle still continues to grow and we still keep in touch, The crazy things we used to do, I was so daring back then, but we had a lot of fun, a lot of laughs and a few tears.

As an adult you tend to reflect on your childhood and try not to repeat the same mistakes or hope that your children have happy childhood memories. That is what I want to ensure in my daughter!

Now that I have a child of my own she reminds me that at one time I was exactly like her!
